WeSight - Information on Personal Data Processing
WeSight is a computer vision-supported system developed by Huawei Turkey R&D Development Team, which can be easily integrated with IP-based cameras and uses the most up-to-date deep learning techniques.
Through WeSight, images from the configured cameras are instantly processed, violations are automatically detected in line with the tasks defined for the camera, and violations are instantly communicated to our customers. WeSight can be used for various purposes in accordance with the demands of our customers and the functions of the product, including ensuring occupational safety (helmet control, mask control, area violation tracking, duty area control, etc.). With this statement, we aim to inform you about the compliance of personal data processing processes carried out through WeSight with applicable data protection laws, in particular the Personal Data Protection Law (**“the Law. We process and protect personal data taking into account data protection laws and good industry practices.

What principles do we comply with when processing personal data?
All personal data processing activities of Huawei comply with the principles regarding the processing of personal data stipulated in applicable laws. The principles that are complied with when processing personal data through WeSight are as follows:
a. Compliance with the Law and the principle of good faith
All applicable legal regulations are complied with when processing personal data. The data is processed in a predictable manner for the data subjects and in accordance with the principle of good faith. Huawei acts with the principle of accountability in fulfilling its obligations determined by the Law.
b. Being accurate and up-to-date
The channels that will ensure that the information of the data subjects is accurate and up-to-date are always kept open. Necessary measures are taken to keep personal data accurate and up-to-date.
c. Being collected for specific, explicit, and legitimate purposes
Control of the processing of personal data through WeSight rests with our customers. The system can be used in line with the demands of our customers and the functions of the product.
While determining the purposes of processing personal data, attention is paid to the fact that these purposes are related to the work we do or the services we provide. The data is only processed within the framework of providing the services requested by the customer.
d. Being adequate, relevant, and limited to the purposes for which they are processed
In the personal data processing activities carried out through WeSight, personal data that are not related to or needed for the relevant process/service are not processed. Huawei only collects sufficient data from the data subjects to fulfill the personal data processing purpose and does not process unnecessary personal data.
e. Being stored for the period required by the relevant legislation or for the purpose for which they are processed:
Personal data collected through WeSight are stored for the period required for the purpose for which they are processed. After the personal data is no longer necessary for the purpose of which it is originally collected or processed; the data shall be destructed if there is no other legal reason for us to keep it. You have complete control over data collecting and storage when WeSight is implemented on your servers. Huawei does not keep data on its systems in these situations.
In addition to the principles outlined above, our continuously improved privacy and security processes are based on Data Protection by Design. Data Protection by Design is a principle that aims to ensure that companies act with privacy and data protection considerations at the design stage of any system, service, product or process and subsequently throughout its lifecycle.
While WeSight was still in the project phase, it was developed in accordance with data protection principles. All features that will be added to WeSight that may affect user experience and/or data privacy are being reviewed before they are implemented. After the necessary steps are taken to ensure that these features comply with applicable data protection laws, the features are included in the system.
What do we do to ensure data security?
We show high sensitivity to the security of personal data. We have high-level security measures against the danger of loss, corruption, disclosure, unlawful seizure, or alteration of the data collected through WeSight.
For this purpose, all necessary technical and organizational measures are taken in accordance with the nature of the data in order to ensure the security of the data. For example, data masking methods are applied when necessary, and awareness and training activities on data security are frequently carried out within our organization.

We aim to keep the personal data collected through WeSight safe for our customers by storing them on our customers' servers -in line with their preferences-. The management of personal data collected through WeSight belongs to our customers. Huawei uses personal data only for the provision of services.
Privacy and confidentiality are a high priority for Huawei. In this context, our customers have the option of blurring the faces of people they access through camera recordings. Thus, it is possible to purify personally identifiable information from the processed visual data.
Huawei employees may access data only to the extent necessary for their duties/jobs within their responsibilities. For example, our Customer Support team may access certain data only to answer your questions and requests. Or, if you need help due to a technical error you're experiencing, our Technical Support team can access data to fix the errors.
Everyone with data access privileges at Huawei has a confidentiality agreement and this personnel are subject to strict security requirements. While determining the access authorizations, the principles of "least privilege" and "need-to-know" are followed.

How are the obligations for data protection regulated within the scope of WeSight?
A Data Processing Agreement is signed with our customers, which meets the requirements of applicable data protection laws and includes our data privacy and security commitments. In this way, it is ensured that both our customers and our company have certain obligations regarding the protection of personal data.
Is biometric data collected through WeSight?
WeSight does not include any form of facial recognition technology. Accordingly, biometric data in the special category of personal data is not collected.
Is the data collected through WeSight transferred abroad?
The WeSight system does not transmit data to a different system, server or abroad, nor does it exchange data with a different system or server. In line with your preference, the data is used entirely on the servers of the customers and within the closed network.
